The mhs homes group are a registered charity that manages 10,000 homes in North Kent. This makes us the largest independent social landlord in the UK. The group includes Heart of Medway Housing Association which manages over 1000 homes, is regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing and is key in providing supported living for young people through our Foyers.
Our strategic objectives include providing safe and sustainable homes, listening to our customers, being a community champion and partner of choice as well as, continuing to be a great place to work. All of these are underpinned by ensuring mhs is a well-managed, well governed and financially strong business. These elements of our identity are integral to the way that we are evolving. We strive to make the most of opportunities, whilst never losing sight of our social conscience and fundamental purpose to provide quality, safe and affordable homes.
It is an exciting time to join our organisation. The last few years have brought much change and challenge for the sector, but we strive to meet new regulations and improved standards for social housing. Our strategic plan ensures we have made important commitments to our customers and our priority is to keep customers at the heart of everything we do.
We pride ourselves on being a visible local landlord. We’re firmly rooted in our neighbourhoods which means we can make a big difference at a local level. North Kent is on the south side of the Thames Estuary, an area of exciting development and regeneration. It is also an area with some of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the South East and acute housing need.
